PDF Annotation Exporter
Export PDF highlights and notes to structured Markdown
A desktop tool that reads highlights, underlines, sticky notes, and free-text annotations from PDF files and exports them as structured Markdown — organized by page, color label, or annotation type. Ideal for researchers, students, and knowledge workers using Obsidian or Notion.
The Problem
PDF annotations are trapped inside the PDF — extracting them to a note-taking system requires manual copy-paste
Most PDF annotation tools have no export that preserves the original context (page reference, surrounding text)

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it work with annotations added by Kindle or e-reader apps?
Currently supports standard PDF annotation formats. Kindle annotations are in a proprietary format and require a separate export step first.
Can I filter annotations by color before exporting?
Yes. The export dialog lets you select which annotation colors to include, enabling you to export only "important" (red) annotations, for example.
